HoneyBoost Ingredients: Each Active Line in One Sentence, With the Studied Amount

Quick answer

HoneyBoost lists zinc, maca, horny goat weed, damiana, tongkat ali, mucuna and L-arginine. Each is a known ingredient with its own history, but the gummy holds small amounts next to the doses studied in people. For two plants, damiana and horny goat weed, no human dose exists to compare at all.

Where the numbers come from

Each studied figure traces to a public paper, and they differ in quality.

The maca figure comes from a 2002 trial in healthy men where 1,500 or 3,000 mg a day for 12 weeks was linked to higher self-rated desire but no change in blood testosterone (Gonzales et al. 2002). The tongkat ali range comes from a 2022 meta-analysis in which seven of nine studies used one branded, standardized extract (Leisegang et al. 2022). The arginine figure is from a six-week trial in 50 men where 5 g a day led to a subjective improvement in a minority and no change in objective measures (Chen et al. 1999). Zinc's 11 mg is a nutrition reference value, not a trial dose (NIH ODS, Zinc).

The gap between label and study

Dividing the label by the study gives a plain picture of scale.

Maca at 10 mg is roughly one 240th of the 2,400 mg used in a mild erectile dysfunction trial. L-arginine at 10 mg is one 500th of the 5 g trial. Tongkat ali at 25 mg is between 4% and 25% of its studied range. These are our calculations, and they assume the extracts match, which the label cannot confirm.

Small does not mean harmless, and large does not mean useful. A gap only shows that no trial supports the gummy as a stand-in for the studied amounts.

Which lines call for a second look

Mucuna and zinc have the most practical cautions.

Mucuna is standardized to 98% L-DOPA, the compound behind a Parkinson drug, so anyone on Parkinson, depression or blood pressure medicine should talk to a pharmacist first. Zinc can lower the absorption of some antibiotics, and the adult upper limit is 40 mg a day from all sources. Details sit on the mucuna page and the zinc page.

FAQ01

HoneyBoost questions people ask

Which HoneyBoost ingredient has the most human research?

Tongkat ali, mostly on blood testosterone rather than erections.

Is the zinc amount close to what adults need?

One gummy gives 2.5 mg, about 23% of the 11 mg Daily Value.

Why does damiana have no studied amount here?

We found no human trial of damiana alone, so no dose can be compared.

Is the L-arginine amount meaningful?

At 10 mg it is far below the 5 g a day used in the trial we cite.
